Corner Story Salons
These LIVE online reading events are inspired by the Saturday Night Story Salon at our Writing Retreats, held in the mountains of Maine. The highlight of the long weekend is our Story Salon, where writers share their work in a 200-year-old historic barn. One writer described it this way …
“The glorious 200-year-old barn became our cathedral of words. The collective consciousness that emerged was infused with creativity, vulnerability, humor, strength, and more than a few shenanigans, all in a safe, inclusive space. New writers, seasoned writers, published and unpublished writers: every story mattered as evidenced in our extraordinary Saturday Story Salon.”
And now, we want to bring a little of that magic to this space. This is not about critiquing or feedback, it is about creating space for one another and celebrating each other’s work (and having writers get comfortable in that space).
• Readers will be invited to read an excerpt of their choosing (poetry, manuscript excerpt, essay excerpt, book excerpt, etc.).
• Maximum 600 words (each writer will have approximately five minutes).
• No preambles! Take the “floor” and read!
• Email darcey@darceygohring.com if you are interested in being a reader!
